Monday Writing: Art Tour 2020

This is the last Writing we will do this year.

It was time to look at other peoples art around the whole school! First we went next door, in room 21. The art was nice and chill like ours. going to room 22 is the same, then while going across from room 22 to room 23, we saw some Lego creations for a spilt second. After that, we went across the hallway to go year 2. Just as we walked in, we saw this Indian art on the floor, like they use this powder to make the art. Also, we saw our art in year 2, coming all the way from 2018. As we came in, we went to room 24, everything was like year 3, then back to looking at the art we all went across the space to leave using the room 27 door, then I saw that the room 27 sign said that it is a year 3 class, so I don't know if it is true or is a typo. After we came out from the year 2's, we went outside the school to go around because we are going to Team 5. When we all came in to the space, the first thing was that they were playing jazzy music like an art gallery. The art was fine. So we came out so we can go Team 5. Everything was amazing. Then last but not least, Year 1. All of the art was improved! Then we went back to class.

 Colours can make us feel happy or sad and they can make us feel hungry or relax. Red, orange and yellow are all warm colours. Warm colours make us feel happy, however yellow, red and orange can also mean danger. Red can also make you feel hungry. Cool colours incloud green, blue and purple. Cool colours are usally calming but can also mean sadness. Purple can mean creativity as it's a mix of blue and red.

Every Tuesday we do boxing at the hall so we decided to write a recount about it. First we lined up outside then waited then went to the hall. Next everyone sat down on the floor to say hi to Pax, the coach. She says to do the following values: discipline, safety and respect. Then we started by puting on the liners, this is because so you don't put swat on the gloves, oh yeah then after the liners it's the gloves. After that we started, we practice the jaws and the crosses, the jaws are the left hand then the crosses are the right hand. Me and Salem were parners, I was the boxer then Salem was the coach. We played with fun until it was time to go back to class to eat morning tea, my hands were free after I took them off, I felt excited because I never did boxing before.

 On a warm sunny Thursday morning, me and my class went to the back field to play a skipping race to write about it. First we were siting on the mat to get ready. Then we took off our socks to wear bare feet, then we lined up and walked passed the court and the park to finally making it to the back field, I didn't know what we were playing but then the game was said. "We are playing a skipping race!". I was shook, this was because i can't skip rope so I tried my best when it was my turn, "What? I have another turn, WHY!!" I said with a begging voice. After that I was done BUT my name was called out and said that i will be practising. "This is a nightmare." I said when i was giving up. Next I was done with my skipping, then I sat on the grass to watch THE SKIPPING CHALLENGE!!! "That wasn't my favour, my favour was to go back to class and write a recount. Finally it was done and I was ready to start my recount. THE END

 On a Thursday morning, Year 4 played a game called...  Line tag, outside on a warm day to write about it. First we were on the mat ready to play, then we did! Second everyone lined up team by team with their shoes on. After that we finally went to the court to play the game. Next team by team again sat on the concrete to start. Then it was time to play Line tag! "First round was Hikianalia vs Te Aurere, BUT the taggers were...       Naomi with Fale. Starting in 3, 2, 1, GO!" Said Ms King with a loud voice. Te Aurere won the first round. Next Houke'a vs Hine Moana, Hine Moana won. Next Hikianalia vs Houke'a, Houke'a won. Finally the last round. Hine Moana vs Te Aurere, taggers are, Prodeus with Manaia, " Starts in 3, 2, 1, GO!" Minutes later, " Winners, are Hine Moana!!" Said Ms, I felt amazing because the game was fun.

Monday But it's Thursday Writing: Cross Country Walking Recount

On a cold Thursday morning, Team 3 was walking, not running to check our new cross country course, so we can write a recount about it. First Room 19 and 20 lined up on the yellow lines. I chose to put on my shoes. Then it was time to walk to the starting line or beside the park. After that Year 3 came along too, but Room 19 went first, then Room 20, then Room 21, Room 22 then Room 23 on last place. Next we all walked out of the school grounds to the reserve field so we all can walk to the first red flag. "Why is it so long to walk, it's slower than running!" I said and probably everyone said it too. Then I went around the second red flag, then we went straight to the end of the reserve field but while I was there I smelt mud when I was walking. Next we went for the fourth red flag, then the fifth red flag but those two flags I said were a zigzag but I made it through. Now six, seven and....    eight! So finally I passed the finish line which there wasn't actually one it all. So then we went back to class but on the way back I said "Now we're back!" I said with tired feet, Because I was very hot even though it was cold.       The End

Garfield Speech Marks

Garfield and Jon stare wearily at their morning coffee..   Jon questions "My iced coffee is cold." Says Jon feeling so confused. "Duh, Jon." Quips Garfield. "And there's ice in it," Garfield waits patiently for Jon to reslise what he has said. Garfield slams his face down onto the table is despair.

Garfield is lying asleep on the table while Jon grasps his morning coffee. "We should do something." Jon suggests wearily. As he turns away, Garfield replies. "Yes we should." Thursday Writing: The Colosseum Part 1

There will be a part 2 if there will be one because I wrote 5 pages so stay tuned for part 2 of the Colosseum.

2000 years ago, a grand and glorious building from the seven ancient wonders of the world is the Colosseum! It's 620 feet or 189 metres long, 512 feet or 156 metres wide, and 158 or 50 metres tall. It is the largest amphitheater in the world and started contruction in 72 AD. It seats 50,000 people and it was once home to battles or 1v1 matches! Contruction was done in 80 AD as the Flavian Amphitheater until it was changed to the Colosseum, it's also a icon of Rome. It is time to take a trip to the Colosseum!

First you start at the outside, there is 80 gates to enter, but 76 are public gates. This allows all 50,000 people to exit the Colosseum in under 10 minutes! Next are the Vomitoria witch is next to the gates and connects the entrances witch are The Gate Of Life - East Entrance. The South Entrance ( Witch is now retricted access only.) is the entrance for Emperors. On the left is gate 76 and the one on the right is gate 1. Going though the South Entrance is the arena floor. It was 287 feet or 87 metres long, 180 feet or 54 metres wide and covered with 15 cm or 5 inches of sand. This is because the word sand in Latin is arena. Now we go down, not up, 

because next is the underground ( Witch has retricted access too.) At the underground area are: The Hypogeum witch is a 2 level subterranean network of tunnels, shafts and 32 animal pens. Though the tunnels are a recontruction of a lift and trap-door system. With the total of 36 trap doors.

Then it's the Level 2 area witch is a spectators view but it still has stairs to Level 3,

Anyways were going to Level 3. ( Witch again, it has retricted access.) Level 3 seating was for the poor, slaves and woman. A retractable awning, called the Velarium, covered 1/3 of the inside of the arena and protected spectators from the sun.

Thursday Writing: The Auckland Sky Tower

 In New Zealand there is a concrete structure towering over Auckland and that is.....the Sky Tower! It's 328 metres tall with 360 degrees views and has thick glass it's also iconic to the structure. The tower is a tourist attraction, it was built in 1995-1997 making 20 years in 2017. In the inside starting at the top: The upper observation deck which is the highest floor then 4 levels of communications equipment and lifts, next the sugar club restaurant and the SkyWalk. One floor down the Orbit revolving restaurant. The floor beneath it is the main observation deck and under it is the lower observation deck. The next two floors are fire refuge decks and under are the lifts.

The Sky Tower was 76m$NZD, 2000 tonnes of reinforcing steel and 660 tonnes of structural steel. 

FACT: The tower is taller than the Eiffel Tower with a 8 metre difference, at night it will glow and during the day it will peek the Auckland Skyline.

Today on a Thursday morning I went to skate on a skateboard! We had to line up outside the classroom, then we walked to the court and saw all of the skateboards! After that coach Simon will be teaching us." Hi I will be your coach today, the other coach will not be here today so I will be by myself." said Simon with a exited voice. But before we had to skate we had to get a skateboard and a helmet! Then we had to stand on the yellow line THEN we had to do a warm up before we do the hard stuff. but I said" I fogot to ride a skateboard!". Then it was NOW THE HARD STUFF MUAAAHAAHAAHAA! First we had to balence on one to do THE HARD STUFF! Trick #1: The Tic tac [ side note I still don't know how to ride a skateboard but I still try I guess] Trick #2: The Olly but this wasn't the trick I think? Now it was time to play Mr.Wolf! The rules are: The first one to get to the other side wins but that's how you win, if you move when the wolf looks back you move back 4 steps but if you go in front of the wolf you will go back 8 steps. "Woooo!" Shouted Spongebob as he spun off the wave and into the water. "Ohoooo." Patrick sighed as he shook his head."Apply the sauce!" Announced Patrick while he squirted superclue on his surfboard. Patrick sped along the wave and screamed, "I will be separated from my board.". Suddenly in front of him Patrick spied danger."Rock! Separate! Separate!". Crash! Patrick's body split in to and his skeleton landed in the sand."I like your sandals." Said the skeleton."Thanks we're inseparable." Replied Patrick.

Level 2 At School

On a Monday morning I went to room twenty at Pt England School during Level two to write this recount. First I had to meet Mr Burt at the gate to get in the school. Then I went to the class, got my stuff and went on my chair. Next I did a word find,  then it was Reading and Writing and I was almost finished my work and IT'S ONLY THE FIRST DAY!It was now Morning Tea but we had to eat our food on the table! I don't do this most of the time but I still did it. After that it was Maths time and I was the first to finish it and again IT'S ONLY THE FIRST DAY! It was now Lunch and it was very different, The field was full of kids! I played Football and a teacher was controlling the game and that was kinda different. Now I need to do my Super me poster and then it was 2:30! That was the time we had to go home. It felt amazing because I get to do more work then just talking because we were apart from each other.
